Violin Lessons

As string specialists, we encourage students to pursue academic excellence in the performing arts, through dedication and most importantly enjoyment of learning a string instrument.

Our objective is for students to acquire a secure technique on the violin, including note-reading skills, while maintaining their individual musical style to produce a wonderful tone.

AMEB or ABRSM examinations are optional however are a great annual goal to work towards. We promote participation in local ensembles & school orchestras and let’s not forget playing for family gatherings as often as possible!
Finding the right music teacher for your child is so important however not always easy… so please feel free to contact me for a chat.

Theory Lessons

Learning notes in the treble clef

Music Theory is a vital part of understanding what we are playing on the violin and why.

Many students choose to have a short theory session after their weekly violin lesson, or alternately, a small group lesson with 1 or 2 friends at a similar level. This is optional.

Piano Lessons

Dorothy teaches Piano Lessons for string instrument players.

This is a great option as a second instrument and is also commonly requested as a weekly session after a violin lesson.
