Alexandra Portmann is a dedicated, highly qualified string specialist, music teacher and professional violinist with over 15 years’ experience teaching & performing internationally.
After living in Switzerland for two decades, teaching and performing in Europe, UK and the US, Alexandra decided to bring her expertise back home to teach your children right here in Sydney.
Educated by the Latvian/Australian violinist Gunars Larsens at the Luzern Konservatorium in Switzerland, Alexandra completed her Bachelor Degree in Violin, Viola & Music Pedagogy followed by a Masters Degree in Violin Performance & Chamber Music.
Alexandra is now on maternity leave from teaching violin at Ascham School and has taught at a number of excellent private schools including ISZL, one of the top International Schools in Switzerland where she was also educated as an International Baccalaureate, Primary Years Program music teacher. In 1999 Alexandra joined Maestro Ludwig Wicki’s 21st Century Symphony Orchestra in Luzern as a 1st violinist and was later invited to join the orchestral committee in 2008.
